Uttar Pradesh, one of the most populous states in India, faces unique socio-economic and cultural factors that significantly impact women's reproductive health .Several factors contribute to the reproductive health challenges faced by women in Uttar Pradesh, including limited access to quality healthcare facilities, cultural norms influencing family planning decisions, and gaps in awareness and education. The impact of these factors is evident in high maternal mortality rates and a disproportionate burden of preventable reproductive health issues.
The study provides an overview of the current status of reproductive health among women in Uttar Pradesh, India, shedding light on the challenges and initiatives aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes in the region.
Data from the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5),( 2015-16), analyzed in this paper with multivariate logistic regressions, indicate that educational attainment of women is the most important factor in determining utilization of maternal health care in rural, and, more pronouncedly, in urban areas, after controlling for all other socioeconomic factors. The study reviews existing literature and statistical data to analyze key indicators such as maternal mortality rate, contraceptive prevalence, antenatal care utilization, and access to reproductive health services.
The study will emphasize the current situations of the women's reproductive health in socially and economically diverse state .Data from the NFHS 5 shows that there finds a positive change in the improving maternal health conditions of women as compared to NFHS4 .Increased use of modern contraceptives indicates the rising awareness among married women that depicts the improving educational status of girls or women in the state.
