Abstract Content (not more than 300 word, should include: Introduction, Objective, Methodology, critical findings & Conclusion):
Introduction: Population aging is major demographic shift of the 21st century, with deep implications for health system and social support structure. Understanding such transitions at community level provides valuable insights for effective planning and policy formulation. Community-based demographic data, when consistently recorded, can serve as a reliable proxy for state or national populations in tracing demographic transitions over time. Objective: Study aimed to analyse bi-decadal community census data to understand demographic and health trends, focusing on key indicators among healthcare beneficiaries. Methodology: A retrospective assessment was conducted in community healthcare setup where employees and family members of the Department of Atomic Energy receive services under the Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS). The CHSS cohort includes employees, spouses, and dependent parents with lifelong eligibility, while children are covered up to age 25 years. Mid-years anonymous community census data of active CHSS beneficiaries from 2007 to 2025 were analyzed. Age–sex population pyramids were examined, and indicators such as pediatric (0–14 years), fertility- age (15–49 years), and geriatric (60+ years) proportions, dependency ratios, crude birth rate (CBR), and sex ratio were computed and evaluated for trends. Findings: Over the 20-year period, the community population increased by 10%. The sex ratio favoured females (1,015 per 1,000 males). The paediatric share declined from 15.9% to 10.4% (–5.4%), while the geriatric population increased from 20.5% to 34.9% (+14.4%). The CBR ranged between 6.1 and 7.7 per 1,000 population. The decline in fertility reflects career prioritization and delayed pregnancies. Also, children get out of the scheme after 25 years of life; we are unable to adjust this limitation in the data. Conclusion: Findings reveal a silent yet substantial demographic aging within a socioeconomically stable, health-secured community
