Applications are invited for admission to the Part-time Ph.D programme of the Institute for the academic session 2020-2021.
Four to Six years including Pre-PhD course work.
The part-time Ph.D programme shall be open to candidates with Master’s degree and at least five years of work experience after Master’s Degree in the field of Population Studies/Demography/Public Health in academic institutions/central and state governments/research and development organizations, who are unable to pursue the doctoral programme in full-time mode. The applicants for part-time Ph.D programme shall be exempted from appearing for the online entrance test.
The Pre-Ph.D course work (six months duration) shall be compulsory for the candidates admitted to the Ph.D programme under part-time mode. Total duration of part-time Ph.D programme shall be for a minimum of four years (including coursework) and maximum of six years.
Candidates should apply online. However, they are required to send a hard copy of research proposal to the Institute. Selection will be selected based on off-line written test and personal interview conducted by the Ph.D Admission Committee of the Institute. Foreign students are exempted from personal interview. The Institute shall not bear travel expense of the candidates called for the presentation and interview.
All eligible candidates are required to register online by visiting the Institute’s website www.iipsindia.ac.in during December 18, 2019 to February 03, 2020.
The non-refundable processing fee is Rs. 1000/-. Processing fee will not be charged from the foreign candidates while submission of application forms.
The hard copy of the online application form along with supporting documents and research proposal should reach to “The In-charge, Academic Section, International Institute for Population Sciences, Govandi Station Road, Deonar, Mumbai-400088” on or before February 14, 2020.
If any student desires to withdraw admission after paying the course fees, the refund of course fees will be as per the Institute’s rule. Candidates admitted to Part-time Ph.D Programme will have to pay M.Phil programme fee for the first year and subsequently, they have to follow Ph.D Programme fee structure till completion of the course.
The Institute reserves the right to decide the number of seats to be filled in. The Institute also reserves the right to change/alter certain rules at any time.
